CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR AUTOMATIC WATCH

An automatic watch is an exquisite mechanical timepiece that can function flawlessly for an extended period with proper care and handling. This guide provides essential steps to begin wearing your watch and maintain its quality for years to come.

SETTING YOUR AUTOMATIC WATCH (WITH DATE)

1. Screwed-down position (position 0):
The crown is tightly screwed against the case to ensure water resistance.

2. Manual winding (position 1):
Unscrew the crown and turn it clockwise to manually wind the watch. For a stopped watch, perform 20-30 turns to partially wind it. Continuous movement of your arm while wearing the watch will further wind it.

3. Setting the date (position 2):
Unscrew and pull the crown to the first notch. Rotate the crown clockwise to set the date (some watches may allow counterclockwise adjustments). Avoid date setting between 9 PM and 3 AM to prevent potential damage to the mechanism as the date changes automatically during this period.

4. Setting the time (position 3):
Unscrew and pull the crown to the second notch. The second hand stops here. Turn the crown clockwise or counterclockwise to adjust the time. To differentiate between AM and PM, pass the hour hand beyond 12 o’clock. Midnight is indicated if the date changes.

CARE AND HANDLING OF YOUR WATCH

  • Occasionally clean your watch with a microfiber cloth to maintain its shine. Wash the case and bracelet with soapy water and a soft brush. Ensure the crown is screwed tightly before cleaning to maintain water resistance.
  • Rinse your watch with fresh water after sea exposure to remove salt or sand deposits. Custom diamond watches with aftermarket bezels may lose water resistance and are not recommended for water use.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures, below 32 degrees and above 140 degrees.
  • Regular winding ensures proper lubrication of all movement parts.
  • Avoid winding the watch while wearing it to prevent damage to the winding stem.
  • Keep your watch away from magnets, as they can harm delicate movement parts.
